Irredentist
Interestingly, an irredentist has nothing to do with teeth. Instead, an irredentist is an advocate for the recovery of all Italian speaking districts back to Italy. That said, I have to admit that the blog meanings were more interesting - if slightly cheeky in the case of the poll winner, The Mad Fishicist. Great work again TMF.

Irredentist is how you feel after being totally incognito being someone else all weekend (i.e.Marge Simpson), having a fabulous time doing things you wouldn't normally do because no one will ever recognise you without your wig and sunglasses on, then suddenly having to come back to reality and go to work on Monday as yourself, and having to behave. Boring! (Would just like to acknowledge our honorary scottish Marge, behind us in the white cap, who was wearing a kilt, complete with sporrin).
Irredentist looks like the obvious: An irresponsible dentist. But it is not. This person tries to teach people how to brush their teeth. This is a new profession. The hygienist has enough to do-cleaning teeth, writing notes about your teeth-that he/she explains in depth how to brush your gums and upper platet. The term stemmed from the higher incidence of gingivitis and periodontal disease.
The young woman listened to the irredentist patiently, inwardly groaning and thinking to herself that he must think I am irresponsible and don't know how to brush my teeth.
An uncommon dental specialist whose techniques consist of solely water therapies. Replacing drills with highly pressurized water jets and flouride rinses with oral submersion bathes, the irredentist (and his patient) lives for the word "spit".
Irredentist describes the slightly annoying habit babies and small children have of putting their little chubby hands into the mouths of adults. Some very aggressive/hyperactive babies will even pick the teeth of their "victim".
