Spraints

Spraints is actually the official term for otter dung! Quite different entirely from the meanings invented on the blog today. But that's the way with this game. Calie's meaning was chosen by the voters on the poll. Congrats, Calie.

A spraint is the sprain injury received as a result of fainting. Other similar medical terms are braint, a bruise resulting from fainting; fraint, a fracture from fainting; graint = graze + faint, etc. You get the picture?

A spraint is a type of long Swedish noodle served braided together with other noodles. Spraints are usually served with a classic white sauce to which a sprinking of nutmeg has been added.

Spraints are a special feature on shoes that are made for basketball. This is the part of the shoe that holds the ankle and helps to brace it. If the spraints in a shoe are weak then the whole shoe needs to be replaced. Spraints are also used on ice skating and hockey skates as well as most roller skates.

Spraints are the last few fronds of a bank of reeds in a watercolour, added with a nonchalant flourish by an amateur artist because their spouse has just started looking over their shoulder.

spraints are the slightly woozy feeling you get as you realize you're coming down with the 'flu -- a little dizzy and wierd nerve jolts, and disphoria because you know like you're gonna feel like s**t in about 12 hours!

Spraints is a quaint terminology from long ago Southern America.....when Southern Belles were feeling a a tad delicate due to either hot weather, too much Mint Julep or the attentions of a very fine physical specimen of manhood......they would tend to end up with a case of the Spraints. They would not quite pass out, but would be lying in a prone position, with their hand across their fevered forehead, saying something like "oh my, I don't know what came over me....I was just sittin' here sippin' my Mint Julep and all of a sudden I had a case of the Spraints".

oooh, vera, i love yours! i was thinking of cramps from painting...

how about this one?

Spraints (noun) are related to Chunks, but not quite as heavy, a bit more delicate... Someone who ate less for dinner might spraint (verb) in an unpleasant episode. Commonly found in college dorm bathrooms after long nights of heavy drinking, spraints are a nightmare to clean and usually emit an unpleasant odour. They are not tidy occurrences; they are very messy and projectile-like, often found on walls.

:) Have a great day!
