Tenebrific

Funnily enough, tenebrific doesn't have anything to do with tennis, the number 10 or singing. Tenebrific means causing darkness. Thanks for putting your attention to this one. Two word imps fared equally well on the poll. Congratulations to Vicki B and Mmmmmmmm.

Tenebrific is used to describe the career of a tennis player that comes out of nowhere to shoot straight to the top and be number one in the World, only to disappear just as quickly and to never be heard from ever again.....at least until that is they decide to make another one of those awful television programmes entitled...."Whatever Happened To....."

One becomes tenebrific after having drunk ten alcoholic beverages. "Sorry, officer - I'd touch my nose for you but I'm feeling tenebrific this evening."

Like the others, I thought of the number 10. It's not that hard to do when you look at a word you don't know and see that "ten" in there.

Tenebrific is when a person you are talking to is a great conversationalist. The conversation is smooth and easy-going. There's none of that "I like to hear myself talk" or the monosyllables-"yes" and "no" that makes it hard to keep a conversation going. The odds of that is 1 in 10.
