Have fun with a new word each day. I'll choose a word. You make up a meaning.

Cacography
Cacography actually has nothing to do with laughter or hens. It means bad spelling or bad handwriting! However, Vicki B's invented meaning took the voters' fancy today. Well done to the other two pollsters though. The vote was very close.

Cacography is used to measure the velocity of sneezes.
Cacography is a record of the flip-flops the stomach makes when nervous. There's a different sound to every situation-mid-terms or finals, first date, interviews, speaking in public, etc.
Sorry, folks, it's not butterflies flittering around in there.
Cacography is the study of different types of cackling noises made by broody hens. It gives the Cacographer an idea of how far through their gestation the hen is, by the tone, pitch and length of the cackle made by the brooding hen.
Originally the mapping of the location of cacao plants, cacography has evolved to mean plotting the location of anything derived from the cacao plant -- namely chocolate or coffee.
1. I choose an obscure dictionary word.
2. You invent a wacky meaning and add it as a comment.
3. After a certain time I list the true meaning and choose a winner for the invented meaning.
There are no prizes, just lots of fun!
Remember, children use this site too.
I am a children's author who has had a handful of books published by trade publishers. They're in book shops and libraries. I've also had a sackful of books published by educational publishers. These are mainly found in schools. I love words and that's why I invented this blog site.
