Absquatulate

To absquatulate is actually to leave suddenly. Obviously something that's easier to do, than say! And not a suitable word to use during texting either. That aside, I liked the range of meanings on the blog. The poll winner was Pat. Congratulations to you, Pat.

It's when you are very dedicated in your exercise regime, except that you ignore the dreaded abdominal work.

"How was your workout, Jeni?"
"Great, except that I absquatulated again."
"Don't worry, that spare tire is barely noticeable."

To absquatulate is to lose your balance due to vertigo. People normally wouldn't lose their balance in these types of situations, but the sense of depth causes them to lose their nerve, and absquatulate.

Absquatulate is an exercise regime whereby doing only one particular exercise you actually work every muscle group in your abdomen and legs. This was invented during WWII when they used prisoners of war as guinea pigs. It went out of favour in the 1950's, but is making a big come-back due to the fact we are all far too busy to exercise these days and this exercise saves at least an hour in the gym.

To absquatulate is to leave the trail or campsite to go do one's - you know - private business.

"Where's Gonzalo? I haven't seen him for a while."

"He's absquatulating."

"Musta been Fester's chicken salad. I thought it was tuna."

Gross.

To absquatulate is to pretend you're doing your ab exercises, when really you aren't. It's quite an art to perfect this as your personal trainer has to believe you are actually doing your ab exercises, so it requires the person doing the absquatulating to still be able to make the appropriate groaning noises and make themselves go red in the face.

absquatulate is what a cat does after he's "done his business" in the litter box or the garden bed, or even on your carpet -- it's the pawing around to cover up what he did...

Absquatulate is a term given to pregnant women during the last trimester when they have a hard time squatting and starts doing the "penquin" walk-almost bow-legged-like.
