Algid

Algid means cold. Quite simple really. There weren't many invented meanings on the blog today, but they were all of high quality. The one that took the voters' fancy was invented by Stacy. Congrats for that, Stacy.

Algid is a foot complaint, rather than a complaining foot. It is when your little toe gets tucked in under your second little toe because you wear pointy shoes.

Algid toes is a common complaint in the drag queen community. There is also an increase in occurrence coinciding with fashions for pointy toed shoes.

Mary loved her winklepickers and her mothers threats that she would end up with an algid toe only increased their allure.

Algid is the puckering of the skin on the face, especially of the nose, that is most often seen on elderly people living in damp moldy climates like England and Scottland.
"Did you see that old man's algid nose? Poor soul".
