Dalmatic

A dalmatic is a loose, long, side-slitted garment with wide sleeves which is worn by deacons and bishops from time to time. Sounds very much like a kaftan to me! Not sure why there's a sudden religious influence in the words on the blog at the moment. The invented entry from Eve's Lungs was the winner on the poll today.

Both of my girls experienced the "Dalmatic" stage after watching 101 Dalmations.

"I want a Dalmation!" This would be all I would hear for weeks after the movie.

The movie should come with a warning: "Dalmatic side-effects have been noted after viewing the movie."

Needless to say, there was a spike in Dalmation ownership after the movie was released.

Dalmatic. "Dal" is a Pakistani, Hindu term in food prepararion, where peas, lintels, beans, etc., are split and hulled. For centuries, this has been a slow, laborious process. But with modern technology, and Western influence, they now use a device, similar to the Cuisinart processor, called the "Dalmatic".

Dalmatic - a term used to describe a person who is whimsical , a dreamer and quite impossible for a pragmatic person to live with . In fact it is an antonym for Pragmatic .

Dalmatic is a reaction a person has when they see for the first time their twin in which they had no knowledge of.
Dalmatic: shock, unbelief, overwhelming sense of panic at seeing yourself in another person for the first time (your twin)
Cindi and Kim both felt dalmatic at seeing each other in the mall on vacation.

P.S. my daughter saw your cat and she thought it was hers. she has a cat just like yours only he is named Bunny.

If a person is dalmatic they believe in many gods but only choose to worship one because it's much easier that way.

Dalmatic (adj.) the tendency of certain sweaters to collect the wearer's hair in a static fashion in the armpit of the sweater.

This happens especially to people with long hair, and is extremely embarassing in school when you raise your hand to answer a question... (believe me)

When Janie asked Susan if could borrow her blue wool sweater for the hike she was doing on Saturday, Susan's response was, "If you want, but I must worn you that it is VERY dalmatic."

dalmatic describes a food with a mostly smooth but slightly granular texture -- like well-cooked lentils (dal, as described above) or tapioca or rice pudding. Dalmatic foods are often excellent comfort foods!
