Rochet

A rochet is a loose vestment worn mainly by bishops and abbots, according to my very knowledgeable dictionary. Your meanings for rochet were well written and well received. All three of the poll finalists scored equally, so well done to Magdalene, Auntibeck and Realityjunkie for all doing well today.

Rochet is a green salad vegetable, similar to rocket but lacking the kick.

It's a style of heavy-duty knitting, in which the density of the stitching results in the completed product exerting at least twice the force of gravity on its unsuspecting wearer.

Rochet is seventy times seven rotations of a spinning top. Guinness Book of World Records notes a monastery in the Himalayas who spins prayers affixed to the top and rotates so as never to interrupt the prayers, but a young man from Peoria has the record since the monks aren't allowed to make it official. From head to Heaven's ears!

Rochet is a fancy term for avoiding sweet treats. Giselle took her son to the ice cream parlor as an award for good behavior. She, however, chose to rochet, as she is trying to fit in her size 10's by Christmas.
