Have fun with a new word each day. I'll choose a word. You make up a meaning.

Anserine
Anserine actually means silly like a goose. Weird eh? Your meanings were less silly, but lots of fun. Today's winner according to the voters was Auntibeck. Well done AB!
Anserine is a derivative of arsenic and tastes very sweet and works great on rodents and vermin. Unsuspecting victims of homicide never know that they aren't using sweetener in their coffee or tea. A very famous murder took place in Wales when a former mistress of the Duke of Snowdonia agreed to meet over tea so that his lover could give back some of his gifts. He never knew what hit him and it took the local police years to solve the crime--exhumation and interviews and everything! A GREAT documentary was done some twelve years later. I just can't get enough of true crime stories!
I think anserine is what someone gets when they're in an exam and they can't think of the answer to a question - even though they're sure they know it relaly.
1. I choose an obscure dictionary word.
2. You invent a wacky meaning and add it as a comment.
3. After a certain time I list the true meaning and choose a winner for the invented meaning.
There are no prizes, just lots of fun!
Remember, children use this site too.
I am a children's author who has had a handful of books published by trade publishers. They're in book shops and libraries. I've also had a sackful of books published by educational publishers. These are mainly found in schools. I love words and that's why I invented this blog site.

If there was a W in there as well, it could be a medicine for kids who are always 'answering back' instead of doing as they're told !

Anserine is a truth serum.
