Kylix
A kylix is really a tall stemmed, shallow drinking cup with two handles which was used in Ancient Greece. I'm finally back from an exhausting time at camp and have made the blog a priority over emptying bags and doing laundry, you'll be pleased to know. Ali and Eve's Lungs share the honours with the voters this time. Well done, you two.

Kylix is a placebo alternative to all those sugary fruit-flavoured children's medicines on the market.
As so many sneaky children had become addicted to the taste of Calpol and the like, and had begun demanding them even when they weren't ill, worried parent support groups lobbied for an alternative that contained no actual painkiller, just the classic highly-artificial taste.
It's also available in a sugar-free version, and is not suitable for those over the age of 12. Not that this stops them.

Kylix are black, thorny hard ,spiky and rise around the inside of your pharynx , thereby producing that scratchy irritating feeling that cannot be comforted by anyhthing- however warm and velvety it might be - you only suffer and wait for it to subside into that nerve wracking cough .

So far I like Clare's idea and wish I had had a kylix to fox my big bros in their DandD games that I got bored by after, well after them trying to explain the rules to me.
