Have fun with a new word each day. I'll choose a word. You make up a meaning.

Imbricated
When something is imbricated, it's overlapping in a regular pattern. That could be a word that's worth keeping up my sleeve for future reference. The meaning dreamed up by Shari was chosen by the voters. Well done, Shari.
Imbricated describes a style/method of embroidery. It's very ornate but you only use too different colours of thread, hence making it especially challenging to produce something interesting.
The wedding dress had been extensively imbricated, particularly on the sleeves, with yellow and black, which had the unfortunate effect of making the bride look a little like a bee.
Despite his best efforts at distancing himself from the recent revelation that the City Council was in actual fact a front for an illegal distillery operation, Mayor Wellby was well and truly imbricated in the whole sordid affair, and in actual fact was later found to be the brains behind the operatiom.
1. I choose an obscure dictionary word.
2. You invent a wacky meaning and add it as a comment.
3. After a certain time I list the true meaning and choose a winner for the invented meaning.
There are no prizes, just lots of fun!
Remember, children use this site too.
I am a children's author who has had a handful of books published by trade publishers. They're in book shops and libraries. I've also had a sackful of books published by educational publishers. These are mainly found in schools. I love words and that's why I invented this blog site.

Imbricated is when you get totally knocked out by a brick or another object.
Mr. Magoo was cleaning out the chimney and banged his head on one of the bricks. Once imbricated, he had to be watched for concussions.
Imbricated is to insist on crazy and high falutin conditions for celebrity appearances.
The cusions were of eiderdown, as imbricated by J-Lo, to ensure a comfortable repose for her world famous rump.
