Have fun with a new word each day. I'll choose a word. You make up a meaning.

Fuliginous
Fuliginous means sooty. Simple, isn't it? In a strange coincidence, yesterday we had visitors for pancakes who brought with them a cute little dog called Sooty. Sooty is a dachshund chihuahua cross. But I digress. Shari and Angelfeet were joint winners in the poll. Well done, you two.

Fuliginous is that very full, bloated feeling you get in your stomach after eating far too much on days that also happen to be religious holidays......namely Christmas Day and Easter.
Vicki took the words right out of my mouth, or rather, my fingers. :)
Fulinginous refers to the end-stage of pregnancy. You feel like a blimp the last three months of pregnancy. The baby takes up so much room and actually pushes in your stomach so you can't eat as much. There's always that tight feeling around your abdomen.
Example: The pregnant woman couldn't finish her second slice of pizza. She was fuliginous and was looking forward to late nights with the baby than to waddle around feeling fulinginous.
Fuliginous is how you feel when your watching a film that makes you feel nervous and excited at the same time, hiding behind your hands at the scary bits and clapping your hands when your hero/heroine wins out.
Fuliginous is a feeling you get that you’re about to lose control and blurt out something that will get you in trouble. For instance, if you thought of telling the headmistress you made up a nickname for her chin wart.
Fuliginous means a spooky and rare occurence, usually involving things happening in perfect order and with all words/names starting with the same letter. e.g. It was fuliginous when Word Imperfect chose Sara, Shari and Sonnjea b for us to vote for the word euripus. They were the first three to give a definition and their names all start with S. The odds of this happening are even more extreme than your chances of winning Lotto, or dying in a plane creash. And, as I found out today, apparently more people die every year from being kicked by donkeys or mules than die in airplane crashes.
1. I choose an obscure dictionary word.
2. You invent a wacky meaning and add it as a comment.
3. After a certain time I list the true meaning and choose a winner for the invented meaning.
There are no prizes, just lots of fun!
Remember, children use this site too.
I am a children's author who has had a handful of books published by trade publishers. They're in book shops and libraries. I've also had a sackful of books published by educational publishers. These are mainly found in schools. I love words and that's why I invented this blog site.

A religion that believes in reincaration. In the highest next life you come back as moss or fungus so as to be still and think about nivarda
...do you mean 'nevada'?

It's a disease that affects cats and dogs which get bitten by the ig.
If not "Nevada," then maybe "mmmmmm" meant to say "nirvana........."
Fuliginous describes a person who avoids confrontation at all costs. Not necessarily obsequious; just generally afraid of conflict.
Terrence was upset when Malcolm stole his pie, but being fuliginous by nature, he didn't stop him.
This one is by my dad:

Sorry for the typo - that is crash, not creash.
