Have fun with a new word each day. I'll choose a word. You make up a meaning.

Euripus
A euripus is really a sea channel with turbulent currents. Sonnjea B's suggestion that Euripus is the hero of a Greek tragedy won the most votes. Well done again, Sonnjea.
Euripus is a planet in another galaxy. The strongest telescopes can barely detect it; however, astrologists know it's there because of the "ripple" in the stars in that area because of the pull of Euripus's gravity.
Astrologists claim that this planet may have signs of intelligent life, including water and plants. The atmosphere is so similar to our planet. It has the right mix of oxygen, hydrogen, carbon dioxide, and other gases. It may be decades before this theory can be proven because it's millions of light years away. In the meantime, they will be watching the movement of Euripus and mapping its orbit.
Euripus is the hero in another Greek tragedy, like Oedipus. Only Euripus inadvertantly and unknowingly married his own sister. When the truth came out, he was shamed and went into exile in France where he opened a barber shop and took to drink.
hey sorry I don't have an idea for euripus yet, I was just hoping you could change my blog address in your link to me because I have a different one now. Thanks and I will try to think of something for euripus.
Euripus is the smallest river in the world. Located in Mongolia, it is only two feet long and six inches wide. It is in the back yard of the home of the National Minister of Science and World Records.
It's a cross between an octopus and a platypus because it has eight legs and a beak and it's really weird. It lives around the oceans of Fiji and Rarotonga.
1. I choose an obscure dictionary word.
2. You invent a wacky meaning and add it as a comment.
3. After a certain time I list the true meaning and choose a winner for the invented meaning.
There are no prizes, just lots of fun!
Remember, children use this site too.
I am a children's author who has had a handful of books published by trade publishers. They're in book shops and libraries. I've also had a sackful of books published by educational publishers. These are mainly found in schools. I love words and that's why I invented this blog site.

Euripus is a latin word meaning "optimum ripeness". It is particularly difficult to know when avocados have reached euripus.
