Farinaceous

Farinaceous refers to anything containing flour, meal or starch. As well as the usual variety of meanings, there was some interesting banter between participants in the blog. Nothing too farinaceous, but getting a bit personal in plACEs. I liked Ali's meaning - especially from a newcomer. The voters chose Reese's entry which described farinaceous as deep and brooding. Well done, Reese.

Farinaceous is an adjective that means deep and brooding.

"Edgar looked at his unfaithful bride with farinaceous eyes, betraying nothing of his intetions toward her."

Farinaceous is a term used for the kind of people who go by the book. They do what is expected of them. They don't like to bend the rules. They are very firm. They expect everyone to follow the rules. They have a heart of steel and don't like to show any sign of weakness.

The farinaceous father told his son that he must go to the same college his forefathers attended, and he must take over the five generation family business.

Farinaceous describes the way your fingers feel after you've rubbed butter into flour while making pastry. The sensation of the glutinous mixture on your hands and especially under your fingernails is farinaceous.

Farinaceous describes a person with a spectacular vocabularly and a shameless need to display it. "I don't care if Harold DOES know what encomium means, he's just a farinaceous know-it-all!"

Farinaceous describes the blow-waved hairstyles of the 70's, a-la Farrah Fawcett. e.g. "To this day, Kate Jackson is pleased she dug her heels in and did not give in to the producers of Charlies' Angels demands to get a farinaceous hairstyle like her co-star."

Farinaceous is a word given to something that goes on longer than it should have. It is not a positive concept (as in, this battery in my watch lasted twice as long as the manufacturer said), but negative (as in: Although Princess Di's funeral should have ended with a quick sprint to the cemetary, the whole thing became farinaceous with the slow crawl through London's streets and all those Brits blubbing)

I am in a farinaceous mood today. A farinaceous mood is more commonly known as "The Friday Mood". When I am in "The Friday Mood" I am more relaxed, a lot happier, and definitely funnier....on Friday's when I am in "The Friday Mood" I keep my work colleagues amused for hours with my funny quips and wit.....however as the day wears on, they seem to tire of my farinaceous mood and keep asking me how long it is until I go home........go figure!?!

An irritating habit that makes you want to get as far away from someone as possible. "She found his nail biting particularly farinaceous"

Ace, I think the correct term to use would be farinacity....however as it's Friday and I am in my farinaceous mood, I will let it slide.....oooh, by the way, how's the moustache growing going for Movember?

Vicki B - I do not intend to waste my testosterone on growing facial hair - anyway, your moustache gives me such a feeling of inferiority i'm reluctant to try competing

Similar to a dark sinking feeling that makes you feel like a warm bowl of cream of wheat. "My mind kept returning to that farinaceous instant when the locked car door left my hand just as I noticed my keys resting helplessly on the dashboard."

Farinaceous is frothy , insubstantial like whipped cream or clouds

Whisk the cream to make it stand up in farinaceous peaks

I can see beautiful white farinaceous clouds against the blue sky ( huge masses of cumulus clouds ?!)when I look out of my window

Farinaceous is an adjective to describe silly twits who make stupid jokes at inopportune moments

Madhu was ticked off by his boss for being farinaceous during the meeting

I unreservedly withdraw any comments that may have created the inference that Vicki B has a moustache
