A teapoy is a conical tent-like cover usually decorated with a floral design and used to keep cakes and biscuits fresh at social gatherings thrown by people trying to be "posh".
It originated in Birmingham (actually, it's probably not much seen outside of it) and the word has nothing to do with "tea" - it's simply the brummie pronunciation of "teepee".
Teapoy - is a very short wardrobe for storing T-Shirts as opposed to the tallboy which was for made for general menswear.

All potters that have ever made a teapot know that the teapoy are the little holes they make in the body of the teapot before the spout is attached. The teapoy must be placed to assure that the tea flows from the spout before coming over the lid. It is also of utmost importance to smooth the teapoy so that there are no sharp edges on it which will cut the fingers of the person cleaning the pot!
Teapoy is a term from the days of the Indian Raj and was used to denote the servant whose job it was to serve the afternoon cuppa to the family. Since most teapoys were elderly men they should really have been called teawrinklies.
A teapoy is a large pottery urn used by the Victorians to plant ferns and exotic foliage plants in, i.e. aspedestra.
They are usually decorated in garish colours and painted with nymphs and shepherds.
Intricately woven 19th century tea steeping devices are "teapoys". These fanciful gold or silver wire sculptures were made in the form of chickens, dolls, dogs, flowers, and other shapes.

Teapoy includes details on all aspects of tea drinking, from the use of bone china to the exact angle one must raise one's little finger to when gentle sipping from the cup.
Teapoy is the art of combing ones hair over bald spots in order to cover them. Sadly, perfect teapoy is virtually impossible, as many a follically challenged individual has found to their dismay.
Teapoy is the correct term for tea . Originally, the peaple who invented tea,lived in teepees in the U.S (United States) first made theirt tea with soy beans (gross).As you can see thats how it got the name tea - POY.
