Midden
A midden is some kind of rubbish pile or dunghill, oddly enough. Apparently, it's usually a prehistoric type of rubbish heap full of shells and bones. Charming. Our invented meanings were far more romantic and we have two sharing the winner's podium today. Congratulations to Rhonda and Lorenzothellama!

The midden is that 'Bill Gates' moment when your computer sounds out that dramatic chord and tells you 'you have performed an illegal operation!' This makes you feel both guilt and anger at the same time knowing, through no fault of your own, that you will have to reboot and will have lost the last hour's work.
Thanks Bill!
