When I first saw the word "dolose" it made think of something sad, too, like "morose."
Okay, on a new train of thought...
It's a form of sugar, like glucose, sucralose, and dextrose.
Dolose is currently being tested. It is supposed to slowly release into the bloodstream so it shouldn't spike blood sugar levels.
Dolose is when you fall asleep in the sunshine, not completely asleep you can feel the breeze whisper over you and hear the sound of nearby conversations, or maybe the thwack of cricket ball on bat from the test match on the TV inside.
On a quiet afternoon I often spread out a towel on the terrace wall and take a dolose.
When you do not win.
Yes, I agree with everyone so far, dolose is a mood. Dolose is a painful saddness that arises when you loose something special, like your favorite pair of socks.
ex: "Ever since that sock was lost in the drier I've been constantly dolose."
The Dolose is a unit of currency in the tiny country of Dolosenia. Dolosenites value their Dolose's greatly and don't believe in banks and usually stuff their life savings of Dolose's in their mattresses.
The Dolose is an ancient mythical tree with magical powers. It was said that, after climbing the amost impossibly high mountain and crossing the raging river, one would find the mighty Dolose tree in the middle of a peaceful glen. Seekers would carve the initials of their beloved into the trunk of the tree and the tree would magically grant the couple true love, fertility and long life.
This is where the custom of carving a heart with initials inside it originally began.
