Spiracle

A spiracle is a zoological term. It's a whale's blow hole. And it's the outer orifice of an insect's trachea. Scarey, I agree. So I'm moving quickly to the invented meanings which are delightful. Thanks for your inventiveness. Well done to Sophie 9, the winner on the poll.

It's a sort of monocle that gives a psychodelic-a-like effect to everything the wearer sees. It allows one to expand one's mind while 'Saying no to drugs'.

A spiracle could be the road that winds around a mountain spiralling upwards to the pinnacle.

A spiracle could be a spinning coracle.

A spiracle could be the spirit that possesses the treacle jug.

To spiracle is to run around with a nail in one foot- like most of us do without the nail-like running around with our heads cut off like a chicken does.

A spiracle is a sarcastic name for a rather spurious "miracle."

"Wow! Can you believe it?! They have my favorite flavor of ice cream!"

"Well, we are at 1,001 Ice Cream Flavors."

"I know, but they have chocolate!

"Yeah, it's a regular spiracle."

Spiracle is a food eaten only in the Scottish Highlands. It's a combination of Spam and Treacle. Yuk.

A Spiracle is a charlatan who poses as a spiritual leader, and who claims to be in conversation with the gods. A spurious oracle is a spiracle.
Out with all Spiracles!

Most people think a spiral goes both ways. But actually, a spiral goes clockwise and a spiracle goes anti-clockwise!

A spiracle is when you blow into a shell to call the spirits to your aid.
