Horripilation
Many of the word imps were a lot closer to the real meaning for horripilation than they probably imagined. Horripilation is the correct term for what's commonly known as goose bumps. I loved the meanings and found it tricky only choosing three. However, I did, and the winner on the poll was Floribunda, again! Keep up the creative work, Floribunda.

It's a compilation of horror flicks.
unfortunately, this is a result of what happens as women age and those horrid black hairs start appearing on their chins -- horripilation is the act of squinting into a mirror trying to grab them and tweeze them away!
Horripilation is the excitement that builds up (scary music, not knowing what to expect but expecting something to happen, etc) when watching horror movies.
BTW, I do like Floribunda's description. :)
It is the hobby of collecting hair-based relics from the English hero, Admiral Lord Horatio Nelson. Gawd bless him.
Horripilation describes the bits of grit that get stuck in healed over wounds. Horripilation mostly happens to small children learning to ride their bikes and 17 year olds on hired scooters and too much ouzo on holiday in Greece.
Forgot to say, Foribunda, I find the car rear view mirrors the most unforgiving for showing hairs for horripilation. euw
Horripilation. N. The state of being stuck in a position while pursuing a Pilates exercise. Though extremely rare, it is considered a serious incident.
"When Leslie tried to extract herself from the plank pose, she couldn't. There she was, balancing herself on her palms and toes, centering her gravity in her belly button and willing her body to move. Praying to her hands to walk back and her knees to bend. It was to no avail. Ninety seconds later, the sad truth sunk in. She had developed horripilation. An ambulance would have to be called."
Horripilation is the state of panic experienced by students who enter a class thinking they have an exam tomorrow...but tomorrow is really today.
Horripilation
Someone or something being horible.
such as,
"Bobby called me a horripilation!" said Timmy to Bobby's mother.
Horripilation describes the pain one feels when having their body hair epilated. This word first came into use with the invention of the Epilady. Now anyone who has ever used an Epilady knows you only ever use it once, then either give it away or hide it in the back of the bathroom cabinet. Horripilation can also cover waxing and other forms of depilitary torture.
