Lobscouse
Lobscouse is a delicious meal for sailors consisting of meat stewed with vegetables and ship's biscuit. Mmmmmm. I think I'll stick to being a landlubber for now. I loved the meanings on the blog for this word. Very inventive indeed. Two people shared the honours again. Calamity Jane and Realityjunkie were the winners. Great work, you two.

Lobscouse - The prepared murmuring, hissing or booing heard during parliament sessions from dissenting representatives.
"As early as his introductory comments regarding the proposed infrastucture bill, the expected lobscouse intermittently drowned out the Prime Minister."
Lobscouse describes a Finnish game where several people lie side by side with their hands on each other's stomachs and laugh as hard as they can causing their neighbors hand to bounce up and down. The object is to be the last one in the game without completely cracking up. Also known as the Ha Ha Game.
Lobscouse is now an archaic term for the machine employed to hurl young Liverpudlians across the Mersey. Originally known as the Scallywhacker, the machine closely resembles the trebuchet although is was modified to allow the user to hold a larger load of car stereos and mag wheels.
The Lobscouse as a mode of transport fell out of favour after several young men suffered near fatal accidents after getting their hoodies caught in the mechanism. In these modern times most scousers generally use the ferry.
Lobscouse (adj.) to be tipped to one side.
The lobscouse manner in which Jerry held the cafeteria tray caused his milk to slide to the edge and hit his fork off the side, which speared Professor James' toupee and sent it flying.
Lobscouse is a kind of weevil-infested porridgey mess that was served to British sailors back in the days of sailing ships. I think Patrick O'Brian might have discoursed about lobscouse.
Lobscouse is actually a scaly, scab-like affliction that affects Lobsters. Although it is incredibly hard to tell whether or not they are suffering from Lobscouse as they are pretty hard and scaly anyway. Don'y worry if you mistakenly eat a Lobster with Lobscouse as it's not contagious.
