Nagana

Nagana isn't nice. It's a livestock disease transmitted via the tsetse fly. Your invented meanings were great! I was very impressed with them. We had another tie on the poll today. It was between Pastor Phil and The Encourager. How appropriate. I'm sure you'll both be happy to share the honour.

Nagana is a type of snake native to the Amazon. The snake is powerful and long, reaching up to 20 feet in length. Naganas can swallow wild boars, deer, and even men. Voldemort's snake in the Harry Potter books is named for this species.

nagana - an unintelligible response from a teenage child. Sometime about the age of thirteen children begin to respond to their parents in pre-cro-magnon grunts called naganas.

"Could you take out the trash Johnny?"
"uh."

"How was school today Sarah?"
"okay."

"Are you listening to me?"
"yeah."

Roughly translated these grunts can be deciphered to mean, "Nagana do it," "Nagana answer," or "Nagana pay any attention to you."

Nagana speech typically ends sometime shortly after college.

How true! Gladly I think I'm nearly clear of that phase now, thanks, Pastor Phil.

Grumpy old men who don't make it to Nirvana end up in Nagana which is a state of limbo where there are thousands of grumpy old ladies nagging them day and night.
'Have you fixed the washing machine...have you done the washing up...when are you going to redecorate the living room...ad nauseum

Nagana are a close relation to the iguana's of Australia. However they no longer wish to associate with them and have developed a limited sound with which to respond to the common question ... are you any relation to the Australian iguana? Na!

It's a general term for any discomfort or soreness suffered the day after riding a horse. Especially a temperamental one.

A nagana is an edible fruit found only in the forests of New Guinea. It is orange in colour, shaped rather like a banana and tastes like a passion fruit. It is one of the favourite fruits of the local people as a result of which the few remasining nagana trees are closely guarded. Two years ago they were saved from the threat of being caught up in a massive deforestation of the area by the intervention of the Secretary General of the United Nations. (Despite their banana shape, to tell a girl that they resemble a nagana is one of the highest compliments that can be paid.)

Nagana(n): A familiar Indian music that snake charmers play on their flute-like instrument.

In India, 'Nag' means 'snake' and 'Gana' means 'song'. Hence, Nagana -- a song to charm snakes.

A nagana is a person who nags constantly. The queen (or king for that matter) of the art of nagging.

The poor husband had to endure his wife, the nagana, as she reminded him to pick up the kids after school because she had a business meeting. She called three times already and it isn't even noon yet.

Ah.. Nagana. Whatever happened to Nagana? That unbelievably sticky, yellow banana flavoured nougat we used to spend our pocket money on during the Sixties. It hasn't been around for years has it? Yet another nostalgic treat gone forever, thanks no doubt, to the recommendations of the British Dental Association.

Nagana is one of the Japanese Martial Arts. This one involves the use of the voice, into which one channels all of ones spiritual and physical energy.

Practitioners of Nagana can smash bricks, and knock opponents off their horses just by the power and pitch of their voices.

Unfortunately, this sort of thing is not a good idea in a country so prone to earthquakes, so these days they tend to perform in special soundproofed halls.

Nagana is a Buddhist word meaning a small cosy cave where Buddhists can go on retreat and meditate. I know this because I have just come back from the Buddhist island off the coast of Scotland and there are loads of naganas there.

Nagana is the sister city to Nagano, Japan. It is located in New Japan (a tiny secret province between New Brunswick and Nova Scotia in Canada) and will be hosting the 2024 Winter Olympics. This is very controversial, because many residents of New Japan would like to keep it out of the limelight.

Magdalene, in the U.S. our nagana was called an abazaba and it was filled peanut butter.. strange combination but very good. They were the perfect thing to eat if trying to extract a stubborn loose tooth.Dollar Stores are the only place to still find them, but I haven't had the nerve...dental bills, you know

Nagana is the evil nickname we use for my Grandmother, who is also our landlord, and nags us to death. When she calls, my husband usually brings me the ringing phone play-shouting "Oh no! The Nagana! She's come a-callin'!!! Oh nooooooo!" And so fourth. I was googling the term to find out if it had a real meaning when i came across this page. Too funny!
