Velleity is a low degree of volition which doesn't prompt any action. I think I kind of understand that. It was suggested by one of our word imps. Thanks for that, Wunx~. Some interesting meanings made it to the blog again today. Raelha was the winner, in a close race. Well done, Raelha.

A velleity is a dance very popular in the Regency period in Britain.
It involved six pairs dancing in a circle. Every now and again they swap partners and rush off into the shrubbery and come back a few minutes later looking dishevelled and pick up the dance exactly where they left off.
Actually my choice for cloop would go to monkeybutt but wasn't nominated.
Velleity is the scientific measure (in syllables per second) of the speed of speech.
Financial services providers are very careful to make sure that the velleity of the "small print" on their radio adverts is high enough that you can't understand it, but below the legal limit for verbal contracts.

Velleity relates to the authority, omnipotence and omniscience of the Norse God Vella.
Velliety is when a small town has increased population and growth.
The velliety of Marytown is amazing; the outskirts of town is littered with suburbs and there are several big stores being built each year. One wouldn't recognize Marytown a decade ago.
Regarding the cloop word meanings, I vote for Brian O Vretanos.
Velleity is the act of making veiled threats.
Velleity (Lat. vela - sails): the measurement of air pressure filling sails.
Sally did not need a velleity meter to know that she would not be wearing this new airy pleated-skirt on a windy day again.
The southern constellation Vela was originally part of Argo Navis, one of the 48 constellations recognized by Ptolemy, but since the division of Argo Navis in 1752, Vela occupies the area which was once the sails of the ship Argo of Jason and the Argonauts. The constellation has been most renowned for its "lucky" designation by sailors, and film star Marilyn Monroe.
Velleity refers to the status of Roman Catholic lay nuns.
My vote on cloop is for Brian o Vretanos.
Question: Given that AWOL is an acronym for Absent WithOut (or Without Official) Leave, from whom and by what means does your poll obtain leave? And how much leave is available to the poll? I ask only out of curiosity?
I'm still having a think on this one. In the meantime I give my vote to Brian.
Also, what's the policy on giving a meaning for a word you yourself have suggested? I abstained from giving a meaning for hoosegow, but having thought about it others often know the real meaning too and it never spoils the fun (I loved Pastor Phil's defnition for my suggeted word). However, it may mean that you have more time to think up a weird and wonderful meaning than anybody else and in that case it could be unfair. Word Imp, it's up to you!
For what it's worth, I have yet to suggest a word and I don't have a problem with the suggester being allowed to submit an entry.
Personally, I like to see as many interesting definitions as possible. Would there be any reason not to post such a def., even if Word Imp ruled it ineligible for the vote?
DuckMan: Maybe the poll is off sick, or maybe it's voted with its feet...
Thanks for the votes, BTW!
Velleity (n.)is the lighting of candles to commemorate a special event.
Example: There was so much velleity at Jack's 100th birthday party that it threatened to melt the icing on his cake.
One last comment - my favourite deinfinition for cloop was the real one, what a wonderful word. I shall enjoy using it the not-too-distant future (I hope!). Will anyone else be 'clooping' with me?
Velleity:

Andy’s velleity helped us find a spot near the door at Woodfield Mall. Thank goodness we didn’t have to suffer too long from the severe cold and 50 mile an hour winds.
My vote for the Cloop definition is for brian o vretanos.
