Nescience is the opposite of what you would think. It's the absence of knowledge. Weird! A bit like what realityjunkie suggested, but I'm sure her meaning was done in a nescient sort of way. Well done again to Holly Dolly who was the favourite on the poll again!

The technology that goes into making artificial knees.
Nescience is a 21st century word describing the newest trends in modern scientific research. The latest scientific discoveries are described as nescient advances or simply as nescience. You'll probably only see the term in Popular Science, Omni or Scientific American. It may have been intended to be neoscience but was mistyped and the booboo stuck.
Nescience is the term used for the viscosity of Jello in relation to gravity, weight and depth of the mold itself. Basically, a nescientist studies the exact timing of adding pineapple and other fruits and nuts to Jello at the precise moment to allow them to float without sinking to the bottom. Obviously, Nescience was very popular during the 1950's.
The moment at night when you come back with the perfect come-back for your friend who was teasing you that day (the opposite of prescience). Can also happen in the shower the next morning, when it is called wescience...
Nescience is the study of the lack of scientific evidence. Nescientists spend their whole lives disproving science.
