Orlop

The orlop is the lowest deck on a ship which has three or more decks. It's certainly tough choosing only three invented meanings for the poll when there are over 50 to choose from! I thoroughly enjoyed reading through the list and was amazed at the ingenuity of the blogging world. Congratulations to Mandy for the winning meaning on the poll today.

The strap attached to either side of a pair of binoculars, which is meant to help you hold on to it but instead gets in the way of your view at crucial moments. Loathed by birdwatchers.

Orlop is an arboreal word – to lop or not, that is the question. We chop down the trees to make our furniture, but the word refers to a ships lowest deck.

Orlop: 1. Any sticky substance that adheres to the fingers despite attempts to remove it by flicking. Usually occurs in areas where soap and water are not immediately accessible. 2. Any contaminant sticky enough to adhere to a cleaning tool but whose consistency allows it to be spread easily from the cleaning tool to other surfaces being cleaned.

Orlop:

A Brazilian, an ant-eater type mamal, that lives off scraps from the Favelas in Rio Da Jeniro. It is quite long, with grown males reaching 1.3m in length, with a third of this being its tail. The head has a long snout and cat-like wiskers.

It is a very clumsy creature often causing damage to the shacks in its environment.

Well, thats my meaning, hope you like =D!

Orlop: animal of the species rabbonkey; a hybrid cross between the family of donkeys originating with Eeyore and a lop-eared rabbit.

The orlop can jump 10 feet from a standing start while braying loudly and kicking its heels. Although the hides are cherished, orlops are difficult to capture because they can kick with great vigor and pop down bunny holes with ease.

Beside braying, orlops sigh heavily on any occasion that would seem to humans to be a joyful event. Often spotted with hanging heads and doleful expressions.

Orlops' primary color is dull gray, enlivened by a white bushy tale. Although sometimes referred to as a rabass, the proper scientific name for the species is Orlop Eeyorious.

Orlops were the Ancient Macedodian equivalent to modern day tummy control underwear. Since licra and polyester weave would not be invented for nearly two thousand years, pudgy Macedonian women had to use what was available...stretched and dried sheep's stomach lining. Wealthy and influential ladies had their orlops ornately decorated and began to wear them on the outside of their togas. This ignited the first outer underwear fashion trend which continues today . For example, Madonna's studded bras from the Like A Virgin Tour.

The orlop is a subspecies of pygmy dwarf that unknown to humankind is preparing to take over the world. Though an Orlop has never actually been captured on film, traces of ONA (Orlopian Naughty Antic) have led us to beleive that an orlop walks with lopsided gait (to protect his heart which if grilled to perfection becomes a map to lost treasures) and can never quite decide what to do next which has led to the Orlop's full name (this OR that LOPsided unknown non-human) which has since been shortened to its present form. The orlop is usually found in the vicinity of keyboards and through the constant use of ONA compels us to almost always press the wrong key.

Orlop/s-Those creepy ugly things who came out of the caves at night to terrify Rod Taylor & Yvette Mimieux on the planet Or.
They had once been beautiful nymphs in diaphanous gowns, like Yvette, but having been picked to undergo the ceremonial Tieing of the Orlopian Tubes, they turned really mean and mad and went underground. Another side affect was that it turned their eyes white.

Orlop is an abbreviated form for the phrase, "Make sure they let me win or lop off their heads!"

Based on the savagely grumpy Red Queen's behavior in Alice in Wonderland, the term "orlop" has become a sotto voce comment on the irrational behavior of an incompetent boss who fires people frequently.

Recently, the television show, The Apprentice, has made orlop a term peculiarly applicable to Donald Trump.

Orlop: In the late 1820's the word cyclop was changed to orlop because soon after Sinbad poked the one weakness of these creatures (the eye) they began to see very blurry .Cyclop, C.Y.C.L.O.P. was changed to orlop,O.R.L.O.P. because they wanted to keep L.O.P. so people would still know who they were. Now the O.R. , who knows where they got that.
Sadly, in the late 1880's the orlops died out or should I say became quite unknown.Although some are sad I'm not because they were mean.Though orlops are gone its cousin the ogre is still living today.

Orlop: THe cowboys of the the late 1800s were committed to getting the most out of their horses. THey wanted animals that could cover miles of territory, without fatigue, as they searched for mavericks and missing cattle. THe orlop was the gait the cowboys kept thier horses in to ensure the longest endurance. It is a four-beat gait, where the front legs stride out using one leading leg, and the hind leg strides out on the opposite leading leg. Not only was this a comfortable gait for the equine, it was like a rocking chair for the cowboy. ALthough rarely used today, it is occassionally demonstrated in western horseshows in Colorado and Utah.

Are you aware that former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani was given a warning that the World Trade Center towers were going to collapse? You can hear him state that someone told him that “the World Trade Center was going to collapse” to Peter Jennings of ABC News
here . What makes this statement so controversial is that it is in direct contradiction with the official 9/11 story’s assertion that no one knew at the time that the towers would collapse. The implication of this revelation is that someone or some group had inside knowledge of the impending collapse of the towers. The insider(s) in question need(s) to be investigated as a matter of justice and a matter of clarity on the question of whether Jihadists are the sole enemies of the U.S in regards to terrorism. So please share this with others and press for the truth to be recognized and further pursued for the sake of our security and sanity.

"no orlop until they stop" was the rallying cry of 1977's national protest, during which jean-paul pierre francolin had himself doused in orlop and set aflame. american spin doctors claimed he survived certain death by jumping into the niagra river and swimming to the american side, where a domino's pizza employee reportedly helped him out of the water and tended to his burns. either way, it's still hard to find a pure bottle of orlop in alberta.

I love your blog. I enjoy playing around with words and you have invented a great game. Now, an orlop can't be the lowest deck of a ship with more than three decks. That's absotively wrong. An orlop is that metal thingy attached to an oar that you stick into its recepticle so you can row, row, row your boat.
