Eudiometer

A eudiometer is used in chemical experiments. Apparently, it's a graduated glass tube which somehow causes an electric spark in its metallic terminals. Something to do with combining gases. I know that's hopeless, but so is my understanding of chemistry. The blogging chemists out there are welcome to provide a clearer description of the word than that. However, I think I'll stick with the invented meanings which were, in the main, much easier to understand. Stephen's invented meaning was a big favourite on the poll. Congrats, Stephen.

Eudiometer - instrument for measuring "euds" (latin -eeeyooouddddssss!) providing a means of estimating when one might throw-up after a rich heavy meal. It consists of a probe which is stirred around in the food to be consumed and the meter gives a reading in minutes and hours indicating how long you might keep it down.
Obtainable from all good pharmacies.

In preparation for the impending colonisation of the Moon, specialists are looking at how people will spend their recreation time.

Dancing will be important for social interaction and exercise, and a special set of dance steps has been devised called the Eudometer. This is intended for walz-style dances, and includes huge leaps, and mid-air pirouettes, which are only possible (at least in walz time) with the Moon's lower gravity.

A eudiometer is a device for measuring yodeling. It records variations in loudness, the frequency range used, the speed and intelligibility of syllables, and the tolerance level for the average non-Swiss listener.

An eudiometer measures how high an octave gets before it starts to break glasses.

The opera singer sang so high, the eudiometer recorded that it took twenty seconds for the champagne glass to break.

eudiometer (n)- device used to measure how bad something really is by how good the person speaking of it tries to make it sound. It would prove quite useful when trying to decide whether to buy something or go somewhere.

an infamous device deriving from Europe. It was a tool used to measure the concetration of odor in percent from any object. The eudiometer would then stabilize the strong smell using its calculated deodorizer.

Eudiometer (n) device used to measure audience reaction in Ancient Greek plays.

During a production of The Bacchae by Euripedes, the producer asked the stage manager to turn off the eudiometer when audience members sitting near the critic began to snore.

It's all gone a bit scientific and clever today. Not sure I can compete, but y'now I'll try.

A eudiometer is a device to measure the level of disgust a generated by those programmes where people have to eat live bugs and do nasty tasks to earn treats. Programme makers for programmes reality shows use it when thinking up new programme ideas.

The higher the eudiometer count the more successful the programme will be.

EUDiometer is any questionnaire used to test the Eligibility of Underwater Domiciles for receiving municipal or town services. Questions typically include the following:
How far from surface is your entryway?
Is there a paved road leading to the first point of submersion?
Do your receptacles for garbage, recycling, and compost float easily to the surface when unhitched?

Most underwater homeowners find the EUDiometer to be quite useless, as eligibility is almost always denied.

Eudiometer (noun): An instrument designed to determine how many eudios are in 10 foot space.

To understand the word "eudiometer" one must understand what an eudio is, so I will define that also.

Eudio (noun): Commonly mistaken for dust motes, eudios are tiny airborne specks of psychic dust left behind from a fairy's brief visit.

Example:
Auggie used the eudiometer to measure the air after someone suggested that it was a fairy who was terrorizing her Yorkshire Terrier.

this word used one of the same roots at "euphoria" -- so it must be an instrument for measuring the amount of happiness one has experienced in a day. Just a quick check before bedtime each evening, after brushing your teeth!
