Aboulia
Aboulia is loss of willpower. You'd think I would have heard of that at some stage in my life, but I can't say it rings a bell. However, loss of willpower is something I'm familiar with, for sure. The invented meanings were wonderful as always. I'm happy to report that the winning invented meaning on the poll came from Wunx~. Welcome to the game and well done!

Aboulia(n) is the unreasonable fear or phobia of the french game of boules. Sufferers exhibit signs of much snorting and posturing whenever they encouter the game in progress and may even kick the boules.

Aboulia: Aboulia was a town in New Mexico in the time of 1822. Now the town is nothing but a ghost town. Those who dare to enter this town most often are never to return.Those dare to enter and make it back to there abode often are scarred and bruised to the bone and usually tell stories of ghosts, monsters and of spirits that follow you where ever you go. Some think they see actually see humans roaming around, but these humans are really just traps. However, the most famous tale is about the Spirit of Pluminghood. Although Aboulia is just a deserted town full of dirt... tales tell much more.
To me, this sounds like what they would call an older woman of great honor in an African tribe. Perhaps one who is a healer.

Aboulia flowers are magical purple, pink and blue flowers that grow in magical lands. They are called aboulia because if you stand at the top of the stem they actually say "boo!" and pop up a really pretty flower. Aboulia flowers are very common in magical lands but not so common in the household garden.
Aboulia is the new plague.
There are three phases of Aboulia, the third being the fatal phase:
1) breaking out in hives,
2) growing a flap of skin under the chin, similar to that of a turkey (known as the "wattle" of a turkey)
3) Selective Skeletal Shrinking (SSS) -- in which the bones in the torso revert to a smaller size, this shrinking of the skeleton continues until the organs are crushed, resulting in death.
If caught by the second stage, there is a vaccine available that will stop progression into the third stage. But this vaccine cannot undo the changes that have been made to your physical appearance. Only cosmetic surgery can fix this. Some conspiracy theorists believe Aboulia to be a man made disease, created by plastic surgeons to increase market demand.

I'm in New Mexico, so if Dancerella has given the REAL meaning of the word, I'll send photos of Aboulia. But it's a misspelling, I should say, of "Abuelia"--the town where grandmas live. (Or used to live, I guess, long ago.)
