Nekton
Nekton is the collective term for free swimming organic life that you would find in oceans and lakes. I'm no scientist, so I'm not sure if I understand what I just typed. Perhaps it will mean something to someone else, though. Nevertheless, a plethora of invented meanings for nekton were suggested. The winner on the poll was Brian O Vretanos. Great work, again, Brian.

Nekton is the correct term for one of those unsightly 'lovebites' that 14yr old girls are so insistent on giving their acne ridden, permanently priapitic boyfriends. Nektons are consider a sign of ownership, e.g.
"Tyler is mine you! So bog off you scrubbers!"
I was going to try necton but I'm so grossed out by Magdalenes priapic, pimply, adolescent boy that I think I'll just go gag!
(And I'll be praying for a good excuse to try out "Bog off you scrubbers" on someone!)

"Nekton, Klatu!" is a command given to the giant robot in the classic film, "The Day the Earth Stood on Its Head."
Nekton is an alien organism that was put into our oceans in the early 60's , its purpose was to try and find a host to to breed inside in the hope that it would create a new species that would eventually have a greater intelligence than the dolphin, so that it would be undetected while sending information back to its home planet using a Nektonite signal that would be impossible to trace.
