Sciagraphy
Sciagraphy is very interesting. It's the action of shading while drawing. It's also x-ray photography. And it's telling the time by looking at the shadows on a sun dial. So, there you go. Fascinating and incredibly informative. If only I could still remember that tomorrow. Ho hum. Well done to Thinks! who was the winner on the poll today.

Sciagraphy is the art of making pictures using toenail clippings. I have seen some very good collages in the Tate Gallery in London.
Sciagraphy:
A scientific test that determines if you have the brain power to be a football player.
Sciagraphy is the science behind a substance called Sciagra that is used and revered by laboratory scientists all over the world. This substance helps keep a test tube in its proper position of alignment over the bunsen burner, but doesn't interfere at all in the method or results of the experiment.
Sciagraphy is the practice of making messages, pictures and patterns out of grass, corn or similar crops. At its simplest this could include stripy lawns and crop circles (though you'd have thought that a civilisation clever enough to fly to Earth undetected could draw something fanicer than a circle).
Cheers all for the repique votes. WordImp, I'm off on holiday tomorrow so won't be around for as long as the weather holds on our camping trip.
I was about to post my definition but Brian beat me to it. I'll pop back with a different one if packing for up to a 2-week camping trip allows.
Sciagraphy - related to balloonionics, this is the study of letting air out of a balloon in a controlled manner to make an embarrasing or rude noise.
Pheweegrumph!would be a typical sciagraphic emission made by a poo-poo cushion and would be measured in grunts per second.
Sciagraphy is a secret operation of the CIA to trace the remaining links of the Antifascist Resistance Group - GRAPO in Spain that is vehemently anti-US.
Carefully planned, it is therefore, called the S(secret)CIA-GRAP(O)HYbrid operation or Sciagraphy.
Sciagraphy refers to the writing or drawing of a sciatic--a person suffering from chronic nerve pain or repetitive stress injury (RSI).
What a cool site, great concept. I've added "Word Imperfect" to my blogroll at manic memes. It would be great if you would link back to Manic Memes.
By the way, there is a google gadget you absolutely must have on your site. It's called "mapmyword" and for a different word every day it creates a mind-map featuring synonyums, antonyms, definitions, origins etc. It's really cool, and looks great as a graphic too. You can check it out on my
portal to the multiverse site. The Google gadgets site is at http://gmodules.com/ig/directory
Sciagraphy is shameless self publicity in written form.
'Thompson's constant sciagraphy had eventually won over the sports master. He was now Captain of every school team, including the prestigious Tiddly-Winkers'
P.S. Being a terribly competitive sort, I was punching the air after my win with Eldritch. Thanks very much, I made myself a shiny badge.
;-)
Sciagraphy: The science of determining how much is too much television, and at what exact point our brains turn to mush.
Sciagraphy is science fiction artwork, such as book covers, movie posters, comics, figurines, etc. Collectors of such are known as sciars (pronounced "sighers").
