Susurration
Susurration is actually a synonym for whispering or rustling which is spookily close the meaning suggested by Floribunda. Lots of interesting invented meanings to choose from today. There was a tie on the poll and I couldn't choose between the two, so I've declared both Madame C and Vicki B winners for the day. Well done, both of you.

It describes a state beyond full saturation - when you're soaked to the bone and it's still raining you're susurrated. We hear it a lot here in Glasgow.
