Fougasse

A fougasse is actually a small mine, sunk into the ground and full of stones, bits of iron, etc which is fired by gunpowder and ready to strike the enemy when least expected. So, our word imps were pretty close actually. Well done while I was away touring and taking joke writing workshops. I'm back to the grindstone at home now - happy to announce that Tallgirl's the winner of today's poll. Well done, Tallgirl.

Fougasse: trying to hide the passing of gas

Fougasse is when the one who did pass gas blames it on someone else or hopes that others think that someone else did it.

Fougasse is an arising fetish in central Russia, where the passing of gas during a sexual act is thoroughly enjoyed.

Fougasse, pronounced "foo-gahssss," is a French cooking term which means to cover with a glaze. One well-known American cooking show icon often uses the term and the method on her show. However, she pronounces it "foo-gassy."

Fougasse is the urge a person gets to use the restroom when they are nervous. This usually occurs when one is about to walk on stage to give a presentation or perform in some way.
