Mesial

Mesial actually means in the middle line of the body. Our tummy buttons are mesial then. And so are our noses. Perhaps a medical person can correct me if I've got that wrong. I could use that word now and again to good effect. The poll still seems to be "encountering problems" so I'll just say that my favourite three of some great meanings were from Thinks!, Lorenzothellama and Sandra Dodd.

Mesial is how you feel when you're sitting in a chair in the middle of the night, trying to get some work done, and you decide that you're going to just close your eyes for a few brief seconds before opening them again.

Describes a kind of work that nobody want's to do. Usually includes animal clean-up. My mesial job is cleaning out the chicken coops. Dirty, smelly, just disgusting.

Sometimes my humans give me a mesial. It's a paltry little meal such as one lump of meat or, for slimmers it may be a slice of carrot and a lettuce leaf. Mesial - a measly meal! And, believe me I can look pretty disgusted when it happens!

Mesial means long-awaited: We'd been standing in the cold and pouring rain for what seemed like hours when the mesial bus came into view.

Mesial was one of the Old prophets, and a mate of Ezekiel.

Mesial; any food having the consistency of a thin gruel. Hospital patients frequently resort to the smuggling in of MacDonalds and the like, because the hospital food is too mesial to be eaten.

Mesial is a word for the state of having a thought that won't go away, and won't quite appear, either. Like when a word is "on the tip of your tongue" and you can't stop thinking about it, or when there's a song stuck in your head and you don't know enough words to sing it.

People who are frequently mesial need to not have jobs that require quick and absolute attention to something. I'm too often mesial to have been an astronaut or a surgeon, for instance.

Mesial (adj.) used to describe someone who is seen as messianic but is in fact just a very naughty boy.
