Tremellose

Tremellose means shaking like a jelly. Simple when you think about it. Thanks for your invented meanings. They were great. And Magdalene is our lucky winner for the last day of the year. Great work, Magdalene. Keep it up.

Once you've gone through the stages of feeling a bit full in the bladder, followed by crossing your legs tightly, through hopping from one leg to the other, you finally reach the tremellose phase where your legs start to tremble. If you don't find a toilet in the next 60 seconds, all human dignity will be lost.

'Having drunk 10 pints of lager, Eric reached the tremellose stage of his evening and was gone from the table for a full twenty minutes.'

In the 1960's (sorry kids) it was popular to name your group (i.e. band - but in the 60's a band involved an element of brass)after a part of your equipment. Hence - Brian Poole and the Tremellose. (There were also groups such as Jessie and the G-strings, Adam and the Amps, and probably Charlie and the Knobs, Fredie and the Frets).

I think this might be a good name for a place to which cult members retreat to await the End of the World, Second Coming, Great Alien Invasion or similar.

(PS. Happy New Year, everyone!)

Tremellose is the unfortunate state in which many of find ourselves at this time of year... very full of sugar!

Tremellose describes the irritating habit modern-day pop sopranos have of not holding the power note, but instead of using vibrato to diminish its effect.

The American Idol contestant might not have been voted off if she'd been less tremellose, Simon Cowell said.

Happy New Year!
