Have fun with a new word each day. I'll choose a word. You make up a meaning.

Cordovan
Cordovan is leather from Cordova. Simple really. Your invented meanings were wonderful. Thanks for your contributions. I'm happy to add that Dancerella was well deserved winner today. Great work!
Cordovan. This is a new sweater coming on the fashion scene. The material comes from the coat of a Dovan, which is a ram like animal found in the outer regions of Tibet. When brushed and woven the multiple colors give it a corded look. Thus Cor-dovan. The animal is so allusive that the price of the sweaters will be more in the "rich and famous" livestyle. There are only gone to be a few so grab quick.
They call it cordovan when you have so many cords plugged into a plug at once that, your whole town has a power outage. The people who put tons of those blow-up things in their yard at Christmas, yeah, you know it, they often cause a cordovan.
Cordovans is the name of the company that makes the electric plugs for toasters, lams, TVs and all sorts of things. The are a very popular CO. but they are not very showy. You know, they don't advertise.
Hmm! A cordovan would be a brightly painted small truck which travels around neighbourhoods selling ice-cream. Attracting childrens' attention by emitting innocuous nursery music (chords) and owned by a family of italian mafia, it is more commonly known as an ice-cream van.
A cordovan is a type of dance that was popular in medieval Germany. You started off with one partner, then during the dance gradually toured the rest of the group until with a flourish you threw your keys into the centre and then waited to see what happened. Lorenzo.
1. I choose an obscure dictionary word.
2. You invent a wacky meaning and add it as a comment.
3. After a certain time I list the true meaning and choose a winner for the invented meaning.
There are no prizes, just lots of fun!
Remember, children use this site too.
I am a children's author who has had a handful of books published by trade publishers. They're in book shops and libraries. I've also had a sackful of books published by educational publishers. These are mainly found in schools. I love words and that's why I invented this blog site.
