A petuntse is a beautiful flower from South America. It was originally discovered in 1902 by an unknown explorer. However, it is a very strange plant and has a strange effect on monkeys, causing them to get puffy eyes and itch. A lot.
This would be a good word to describe the soil in my back garden, which is so stony that nothing (except, miraculously, weeds) ever seems to survive in it, and digging a hole of a few inches takes several hours.

Petuntse is the feeling of exhaustion one experiences after a particularly long day of playing Petanque.
