Cringle

A cringle might be found on a rue-raddy, funnily enough. It's the part of a rope called the eye where there is a metallic thimble looking thingy so that another rope can pass through the eye. I enjoyed your various invented meanings and am pleased to announce that Iota was the winner in the voting stakes. Great work, Iota.

Cringle: the stuff in a paper shredder that bends when the shredder jams.

Methinks this is the polite word to describe a cat's bottom. Round and crinkley. Hmmm, nice!

Cringle is to shrink up just a little, as some plastics do in low heat. For shrink-wrapping purposes, scientists created extra-cringly plastic, but for use in a microwave oven, the plastic must have NO cringllosity at all.

Cringle is a Christmas cookie which is very much like the popular snickerdoodle. The only difference being that a cringle has multicolored sprinkles on top, and the snickerdoodle is bare.

Doing a cringle, is doing a good deed despite your politics and social ramifications. As in Kriss Kringle.

A cringle is a combination of a cringe and a tingle. A feeling of acute embarrassment on behalf of someone who has just said something completely dreadful, mixed with a shot of excitement at being there to witness the event.

It's a collective term for those irritating little pockets of sand that refuse to leave the inside of your shoes for several months after your trip to the beach.
