Purfle
A purfle can be a fancy border. So, to purfle is to make something fancy. That's my version of what the dictionary says and it's close enough to the truth, so that's good enough for me. My daughter will be doing a bit of purfling before the school disco tonight, methinks. Well done to the inventors of interesting meanings for purfle. The poll winner was Realityjunkie.

To purfle is to stumble over your words in embarrassment.
Jane dropped her presentation notes, went bright red and began to purfle.
purfle is a word joe fle invented. his cat he named pur pur jumped and landed on his head with its claws digging in. "PUUURRRRRR-FLLLEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!" AND SO now we use this word to punish our cat or dog named pur pur, purr, fle, or fle fle.
I always thought a purfle was one of those really furry neck wraps you wear on really cold days that had mittens knitted into the ends so you could keep your hands and your neck warm at the same time.
A purfle is a very ostentatious method of shuffling a deck of cards which involves throwing them all high in the air in an apparently random and haphazard manner, but managing to catch them again. Real show-offs do this with one hand.
It is considered bad form for the dealer to use this in games involving money, where the more stately riffle is prefered. This is due to the possibility of an accomplice substituting some of the cards whilst they are mid-air.
a purfle is a long stick used to stab at cursed beings and objects invented by Jonathan purfleton who was cursed himself his whole life until he invented the purfle. the purfle isn't made to hurt the being it makes you numb then you fall asleep forgetting everything about being cursed and cured. the purfle is a long stick with a thing that looks like a puff ball but its sharp ,and to this day we still don't know what it is, with medicine in it. this medicine is very rare it's only found in europe. the purfle is also rare ever since the inventor Jonathan purfleton died from old age. he lived from 1798-1887.
Purfle is a coloured pigment obtained by grinding red ochre and Lapis Lazuli. It was the colour of Senators' robes in ancient Rome - not being quite bright enough to make Imperial purple.
Purfle is a verb which describes how birds fly when they are in a feeding frenzy as 'they were purfling around the bird feeder'.
A purfle is a type of mythical creature mixed between a cat, a fly and an elephant. As you may guess it is unbelievably gross looking. Even the baby ones are disgusting!
Sorry to have to post this. A purfle is a silent, but deadly passing of gas. Purfles can be terribly embarassing, when there is no dog or small child anywhere in sight for the purfler to blame.
When a sea creature moves to attract larger animals and to catch small ones, that movement is purfling. Whether it's done voluntarily by an animal or is the movement a plant makes by catching water movements, it's still "to purfle."
Sorry to have to leave such a disgusting definition, but to purfle is to wake up from a drunken stupor and vomit. The great thing about purfling is you feel at least 50% better than you did a few minutes before.
To purfle is to laugh with a mouthful of popcorn. Many cinema-goers have left the theatre unknowingly sporting heavy dandruff.
