Drupe

Apparently, a drupe is the correct scientific name for any stone fruit such as an olive, plum or cherry which encloses the stone or nut with a kernel. There you go. If you knew that, you're better than me. However, I prefer Ron's meaning, as did the pollsters today. Well done, Ron.

Drupe is a medical condition /psychological state characterized by a physical inability of the person afflicted to say or do anything remotely uplifting, energetic or happy. In a small percentage of cases, those afflicted may psychically project negative thoughts within a 1 acre radius. Those suffering from Drupe are discouraged from social gatherings as they are most likely to take the mood of the room south in a dramatic and drastic way.

A Drupe is a particularly good looking male. The type of one that makes all females aware of him. He however is totally unaware of this and is usually madly in love with one woman all his life.

In musical theater jargon, dancers often refer to a member of their troupe who makes it on looks, rather than talent, as a drupe.

"Look at her, she looks great in leotards, but she dances like a puppet...what a drupe"!
